The Levi’s 501 has taken on a life of its own since its invention 140 years ago as an icon of culture and style throughout the world.

This video shows how to make an axe by laminating tehnique and it is a short insight in forging methods used by bladesmith John Neeman.

“At spring 2012 I, bladesmith John Neeman, got in an accident. My face and hands were burned. At this tough moment some people from Forestry Forum were with me in their thoughts, supporting me both morally and financially. Thanks to them I was able to recover faster.”

The axe you can see in this video, along with two other axes, are made as thanks to the great people on Forestry Forum. The three tools were donated to the administration of the forum for an auction to raise funds for maintaining the site.

Yahoo! doesn’t usually register with me as being strong in the design department, but I have to admit they have created the best weather app I’ve used. Using photos from Flickr to match your location, time of day, and current conditions, the app is visually outstanding. 4. RANDO

I’m really enjoying this strange but fun app. Rando allows you to send a photo to a random user on the other end. They never know who sent it and you never know who got it, but the real fun is that you get a photo in return. (iOS) (Android)

5. FIELD TRIP

Field Trip runs in the background of your phone as you go about your day. As you move around it will alert you whenever you are near something cool, hidden, or unique. I’ve already found some cool stuff in my own neighborhood that I didn’t know existed. (iOS) (Android)

6. TEMPO SMART CALENDAR

If you’re looking for something a bit more integrated than the standard iCal, check out Tempo. The app acts like your very own personal assistant, organizing your contacts and events into your calendar. It’s easy to alert people when you’re running, it helps you get directions, and it handles a bunch of tasks on its own. (iOS)

Gran Turismo is 15 years old, now I feel old. Something to look forward to this holiday season along with GTA. A peak at Gran Turismo 6.

Director Cam Elkins documentary series is dedicated to bikes and their riders, compiling their anecdotes into the aptly-named “Stories of Bike” web series.  Sometimes the best way to get from A to B is to cross a bridge, while riding your own custom Honda CB250n motorcycle. Sure, it’s a fairly simple bike, but knowing its fairly unshapely origins, Stephen has really turned this machine into something very charming and humble. It’s hard to believe it’s actually happening, after countless delays and an energetic rumor-mill, the fourth season of  Arrested Development is finally here. Set to hit Netflix on May 26, the latest season will have all episodes available at once. Each episode will focus on one character, showing the character’s activities since the end of the third season nearly seven years ago.

I’m afraid I prematurely shot my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run if you will, so I’m afraid I have something of a mess on my hands.
